Founded in 2021 by the drag queens Lolli-licious and Flair Debonair, Drag Attack is the only short-form comedy drag show in Taiwan, hosted at Two Three Comedy. Taipei Popcorn and Rafaela took over production of this show in 2022, writing, hosting, and managing it together. Since then, the dynamic duo has put on two scripted drag shows, each featuring more than ten drag performers. This is the only drag show in Taiwan that includes a plot and scripted scenes, offering drag performance the chance to display a diverse range of talents. Unlike most drag shows that take place in bars and clubs, Two Three Comedy provides a theatre space where the audience can sit down and fully enjoy the show. It also features a competition for new drag artists, giving up and coming artists the chance to make a name for themselves. For more information, check out Drag Attack's Instagram.
For Rafaela and Popcorn's first joint production of Drag Attack, they chose the theme "space opera," inviting all the drag performers in the cast to explore beyond humand and beyond gender to emoby their alien drag fantasy. In this show, Rafaela, the last drag queen on Earth, must journey into space to find her drag soulmate and repopulate the Earth. Luckily, Popcorn, now an artifially intelligent drag robot, is there to guide her along the way.
For the second Drag Attack produced by Popcorn and Rafaela, they chose the theme "high fantasy," inviting all the drag performers to embody their fantasy and fairy tale dreams. In this show, Princess Popcorn is cursed to slowly lose her beauty by an evil which. Rafaela the Moustached, an elven drag guardian, appears to help her on a quest to undo this curse and restore her beauty. Along they way they encounter great drag guardians, new drag minions, and an unexpected map.
For their third Drag Attack, Popcorn and Rafaela embodied rich, basic, spoiled white girls on their way to an overly extravagant hotel Christmas Party. In this show, Popcorn and Rafaela experience the most transformational mushroom trip of their lives, encountering drag version of the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future that teach them how to be better people. They learn how to be kinder, more giving, and spread love during the Holiday Season.
